Prof. Ji?? Kub??ek

Professional title : Script writer / Script editor / Teacher.
Born in Prague, February 6, 1944. Ji?? Kub??ek studied directing and dramaturgy at the Puppet Theatre department of Prague Academy of performing Arts (DAMU).
After graduating from this unique school he was working in the most popular Czech Prague Puppet Theatre where he had several productions for both children and adults.
Since 1973 J. Kub??ek has been working with Kr?tk? Film Praha company that is producing all genres of short films included the animated ones, i.e. productions of the traditional studios Brat?i v triku and Ji?? Trnka’s Studio. He co-operated with the most important personalities as B?etislav Pojar, Jan ?vankmajer, Ji?? Barta, Pavel Koutsk?, Michaela Pavl?tov?. Since 1982 till 1990 he has working as head of Department for Scripts of the Animated Film Studios of Kr?tk? Film Praha Company.
Since 1990 till 2006 head of Department of Animation at Academy of performing Arts in Prague (FAMU).
He was the Czech representative to ASIFA Board as well. He is a main scriptwriter or co-writer of about 40 animated films and of several TV series.
